Juan Miguel studied history at the Universidad Privada de Santa Cruz de la Sierra (UPSA) before completing a postgraduate certificate in Ibero-American colonial heritage in Córdoba, Argentina. He has spent 14 years guiding travellers through eastern Bolivia — a region that most international operators ignore entirely.
His specialty is the Jesuit Missions Circuit of the Chiquitanía: six baroque churches built between 1691 and 1760, all UNESCO World Heritage, all still active as community centres. He argues — convincingly — that this is the most architecturally significant and least crowded heritage route in South America.
Juan Miguel also guides the Pantanal and Noel Kempff Mercado National Park routes, and speaks Italian, which gives Love Bolivia direct access to a large Italian-speaking market with strong connections to the Jesuit historical legacy.
