Rosa Chávez

Culture & Gastronomy Expert

📍 Cochabamba, Bolivia

"

"You can't understand Bolivia without eating it first. The food is a map of the country's history."

Biography

Rosa was raised in a Quechua-speaking household in the Valle Alto of Cochabamba — a valley known as the breadbasket of Bolivia for its extraordinary culinary diversity. She studied anthropology at the Universidad Mayor de San Simón (UMSS), writing her dissertation on the role of food markets as cultural archives.

She has designed Love Bolivia's cultural itineraries from the ground up: the market visits, the community kitchen experiences, the textile workshops in Tarabuco, and the Carnival routes in Oruro. She speaks Quechua natively and can navigate the social codes of Andean community ceremonies that remain inaccessible to external guides.

Rosa also curates all gastronomic content across the platform and is the person behind every restaurant, market stall, and family lunch recommendation in the valley routes.
