"The Southwest is not a landscape you visit. It is a landscape that visits you — and it doesn't leave."
— Biography
Diego was born in Tupiza, a small canyon town in the far south of Potosí department — the gateway to Bolivia's most extreme landscape. He has crossed the Bolivian Southwest in every season and every condition: summer rains that turn the salt flat into a mirror, winter frosts at -25°C, and the violent afternoon winds of the altiplanic spring.
He knows the Lagunas Route (Colorada, Verde, Blanca) not from guidebooks but from having driven every kilometre of it more than 80 times. He tracks seasonal flamingo populations at Laguna Colorada and works with a local ornithological research group that monitors the three Andean flamingo species.
Diego also coordinates all Love Bolivia logistics for Uyuni departures, including vehicle selection, weather planning, and emergency protocols — because in the Southwest, planning is not optional.
